STK Kit Motors

STK Torque motors kits are motors in rotor-stator kits without bearings,  casing and flanges intended to be integrated into the user's mechanics to optimize and simplify  the kinematics of servomechanisms in  direct drive without reducers. Indeed, the STK  torque motor kits have essential advantages for their integration into automated axes in direct drive, which can be listed as follows:

  • extremely compact design thanks to electromagnetic and thermal optimization

  • hollow rotor  of large diameter allowing to pass  cables or auxiliary shafts or pipes or processes which must be in contact with the load

  • high accuracy made possible by minimizing torque harmonics and  cogging torque

  • high reliability measured on a high population of motors in the field for many years.

 

These integration qualities thus make it possible to create what is called a motor/load mechatronic function which revolutionizes the traditional principle of the motor/gearbox coupling. The gains for the integrator are the kinematic simplification, the increase in precision and the elimination of play, the elimination of maintenance and consequently a lower installation and operating cost.

The applications appeared originally in the machine tool field and then in most industrial automation such as extrusion machines, glass machines, woven and non-woven textile machines, pneumatic industry, machines for the manufacture of electronic components... These motors are now used in the machinery of theater stages  thanks to their silence, amusement parks, land and underwater vehicles.

Main Characteristics

  • Continuous torque from 8 Nm up to 2708 Nm continuous in natural convection depending on size and up to 6100 Nm in fluid cooling.

  • Six external diameters from 145 mm up to 800 mm.

  • Internal diameter from 56 mm up to 630 mm.

  • Various available windings from 30 rpm up to 1500 rpm depending on type.

  • Rotor non dynamically balanced; if needed balancing has to be made by the user on assembled rotor

  • For environment and integration constraints, please request our STK handbooks for assembly

  • Frameless design: one rotor and one stator to be integrated inside user’s mechanics

Characteristics of the range

The range of frameless STK torque motors  includes 6 sizes from 145 mm up to 800 mm available in different lengths per size and two standard rated speeds. They are particularly convenient for direct drive motors applications thanks to their outstanding compacity and accuracy.
